Determination of Working Area of an Electrode Experiment Kit 990-00457.
In this experiment the students learn about concentration-distance profiles and how a change in potential at the face of the electrode affects the shape of the concentration-distance profile for both product and reactants. Students use Chronoamperometry and Chronocoulometry to obtain Cottrell and Anson plots for the reduction of ferricyanide. Using the plots with the Cottrell equation and Anson equation, students calculate the working area of the electrode.
